Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION # 13-09-172 <br />RESOLUTION TO END FIREFIGHTERS' PROBATION <br />WHEREAS, Alex Merritt, Mike Nelson, Adam Schrag, and Scott Widstrom began <br />working for the City on September 26, 2012 as paid -on -call firefighters and were subject to a <br />1-year probationary period; and <br />WHEREAS, Alex Merritt, Mike Nelson, Adam Schrag, and Scott Widstrom have <br />successfully completed the required 1-year probationary period and the necessary training, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends removing Alex Merritt, Mike Nelson, Adam Schrag, <br />and Scott Widstrom from probation and retaining them as paid -on -call firefighters; and <br />WHEREAS, Jeff Kagol began working for the City on November 14, 2012, as a <br />paid -on call firefighter; and <br />WHEREAS, Jeff Kagol came to the City as an experienced firefighter; and <br />WHEREAS, Chief Kapler is recommending that he has completed his probationary <br />period and necessary training; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends removing Jeff Kagol from probation and retaining <br />him as a paid -on -call firefighter. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />The City Council of the City of Ramsey adopts this resolution to end the probationary <br />period and grant status as paid on -call Fire Fighter to Alex Merritt, Mike Nelson, Adam <br />Schrag, Scott Widstrom and Jeff Kagol. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 24th day of September 2013. <br />
