REVIEW TO DO LIST · Utilize MSN Community Several of the members described problems they are experiencing in accessing and utilizing the MSN Community. Ms. Sitz arrived at 6:40 p.m. Mr. McDilda stated that he will most likely establish a new Environmental Policy Task Force (EPTF) MSN Community and send everyone new invitations and hopefully all the glitches can be eliminated. · Calendar Update Mr. McDilda distributed copies of an updated timeline calendar for drafting a tree preservation ordinance. The members suggested adding the following events to the calendar: Public Workshop, Review by Park Commission and Planning Commission, Planning Commission Public Hearing. Consensus was to continue to pre-assign which sections of the draft ordinance will be reviewed at each meeting of the EPTF. Members should come to the meetings prepared to take action and if they cannot be present, their comments on the assignment can be related to the rest of the group via the MSN Community. Ms. Frolik was asked to provide Erika Sitz with a hard copy of the ordinance draft. · New Residential Landscaping Requirements The EPTF noted receiving the new Residential development standards, including landscaping requirements, from Ms.Frolik. · Report on American Planning Association Tree Ordinance Document Mr. Reeve stated that the report is lengthy and he did not read it all. His impression is that it is another tool that can be used in drafting a tree preservation ordinance. · Establish Resource List Mr. McDilda noted that he did establish a Resource List in the MSN Community. Members can edit the list and add names and links. · Draft Mission Statement Ms. Strommen read the draft mission statement. Mr. McDilda distributed an EPTF document he drafted for the City's website, which included an expanded mission statement based on Ms. Strommen's draft. Ms. Strommen felt strongly that a mission statement should be summed up in one sentence; anything else beyond that could be identified as objectives. Ms. Dvorak proceeded to read some objectives she drafted for the EPTF. Motion by Mr. Max and seconded by Ms. Sitz to adopt the mission statement presented by Ms. Strommen as follows: "To develop and review City policies relating to the use, protection and renewal of Ramsey's natural resources and to engage citizens in policy implementation"; and to place Ms. Dvorak's draft EPTF Objectives on the next meeting agenda for review and consideration.
