Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #13-08-135 <br />RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING COUNCIL ACTION OF APPROVING EASEMENT NO. <br />AWOO1b TO GREAT RIVER ENERGY ON LOT 1, BLOCK 1, ALPINE AUDITION, CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, as part of the landfill settlement agreement with Waste Management, Inc. in <br />the 1990's, approximately 90 acres of land was conveyed to the City of Ramsey north of the landfill <br />for public purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, prior to the conveyance of land to the City of Ramsey, Waste Management <br />dedicated an easement for an electric transmission line on the west edge of what was to become <br />Alpine Park, to the City of Anoka Municipal Utility; and <br />WHEREAS, recently, the Anoka Municipal Utility sold their transmission line to Great <br />River Energy (GRE); and <br />WHEREAS, while the easement and infrastructure remain, GRE is in the process of <br />securing easements with the current property owners along this transmission line — the City of <br />Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, GRE will have to clear the easements of encroaching trees and have, <br />therefore, agreed to a restoration plan for the park; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 25, 2013, the Ramsey City Council voted to approve Easement No. <br />AW-o01b to Great River Energy on Lot 1, Block 1, Alpine Addition, City of Ramsey, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council must approve an easement via adoption of a resolution in <br />order for the easement to be recordable, therefore, this resolution is affirmation of the action taken <br />by the Ramsey City Council on June 25, 2013. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City of Ramsey hereby affirms by this resolution, the approval of an easement to <br />Great River Energy on Lot 1, Block 1, Alpine Addition, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, <br />as was approved by the City Council on June 25, 2013. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmcmber <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />
