CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 08/ 13/2013 <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Approve an Exemption for a Gambling License for Ducks Unlimited -Game Fair <br />4.6. <br />Background: <br />The attached application is from the Ducks Unlimited - South Metro Flyway for exemption from a lawful gambling <br />license to hold a fund-raising raffle at Game Fair on August 18, 2013. <br />Ducks Unlimited is the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. <br />Ducks Unlimited meets all of the requirements which allow them to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from <br />the standpoint that commodities to be raffled are greater than $ 1,500 but less than $50,000 for the calendar year. <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control Board, while if the <br />request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared and submitted to the Gambling Control <br />Board. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for Ducks <br />Unlimited - South Metro Flyway to hold a raffle at Game Fair on August 18, 2013. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to recommend City Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for Ducks Unlimited - <br />South Metro Flyway to hold a raffle at Game Fair on August 18. 2013 and authorize staff to submit a letter to the <br />Gambling Control Board stating approval. <br />Exemption Permit - Ducks Unlimited <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Inbox Reviewed By Date <br />Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 08/03/2013 12:00 PM <br />Form Started By: Diana Lund Started On: 07/25/2013 02:41 PM <br />Final Approval Date: 08/03/2013 <br />
