It is
desirable to have crosswind runways on all airports. When it was
mentioned that the county was preparing'to build a new river
crossing and relocate County Road 56 to the west, we felt that
the feasibility of a crosswind runway should be investigated. We
would not expect that the crosswind runway would be built now,
but planned for so that it can be built in the future.

I hope this clarifies Mr. Haukebo's letter of January 17, 1990,
and I trust we can proceed with making the Gateway Airport publicly
owned servicing those people in the Ramsey area.

Minnesota Department of Transportation
Program Management Division

CC:
James Weingartz, 'Mn/DOT
Jack Ippel, Airport Commission Chairman

A n Equal Opportu,dty Emplo. ver
