Counciimember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #90-03- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING APRIL 7 THROUGH APRIL 14 AS 1990 <br />NATIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WEEK <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the week of April 7 through April 14, 1990 has been designated as <br />National Community Development Week and Anoka Count), is participating in the Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program which funds a variety of social service, economic <br />development, public utility and housing programs in the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey recognizes that during the last nine years a partnership <br />of federal, local government, non-profit and community efforts has enabled Anoka County to <br />utilize 13.5 million dollars of HUD-allocated CDBG Funds for public facilities, business <br />development, human services, housing development and development and rehabilitation to aid it's <br />low-income citizens and to preserve neighborhoods; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during 1990 National Community Development Week, Anoka County is <br />extending special thanks and recognition to all participants, whose hard work and devotion to the <br />neighborhoods and their low and moderate income residents, help insure the quality and the <br />effectiveness of the Community Development Block Grant Program. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, COUNTY OF ANOKA, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City of Ramsey, together with Anoka County, along with service providers, <br />hereby petition the U.S. Congress and Administration to recognize the outstanding work <br />being done locally and nationally by the Community Development Block Grant Program <br />and its vital importance to the community and people who live in it's Iow income <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That copies of this resolution be conveyed to the appropriate elected and appointed officials <br />in the Federal Government. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That the City of Ramsey be added to the role of those committed to the preservation and full <br />funding of the Community Development Block Grant and maintenance of it's essential <br />features over the course of the next Congress. <br /> <br />Motion for <br />Councilmember <br />thereof: <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council on <br />this the 27th day of March, 1990. <br /> <br /> <br />
