Counciimember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #90-03- RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING APRIL 7 THROUGH APRIL 14 AS 1990 NATIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WEEK WHEREAS, the week of April 7 through April 14, 1990 has been designated as National Community Development Week and Anoka Count), is participating in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program which funds a variety of social service, economic development, public utility and housing programs in the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey recognizes that during the last nine years a partnership of federal, local government, non-profit and community efforts has enabled Anoka County to utilize 13.5 million dollars of HUD-allocated CDBG Funds for public facilities, business development, human services, housing development and development and rehabilitation to aid it's low-income citizens and to preserve neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, during 1990 National Community Development Week, Anoka County is extending special thanks and recognition to all participants, whose hard work and devotion to the neighborhoods and their low and moderate income residents, help insure the quality and the effectiveness of the Community Development Block Grant Program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, COUNTY OF ANOKA, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City of Ramsey, together with Anoka County, along with service providers, hereby petition the U.S. Congress and Administration to recognize the outstanding work being done locally and nationally by the Community Development Block Grant Program and its vital importance to the community and people who live in it's Iow income neighborhoods. 2) That copies of this resolution be conveyed to the appropriate elected and appointed officials in the Federal Government. 3) That the City of Ramsey be added to the role of those committed to the preservation and full funding of the Community Development Block Grant and maintenance of it's essential features over the course of the next Congress. Motion for Councilmember thereof: the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council on this the 27th day of March, 1990.
