MAKE THE SCENE, KEEP RAMSEY CLEAN Committee Meeting Minutes November 7, 1988 Members Present: Terry Miller Kathi Peterson Bruce Bacon Dave Bawden Steve Bluhm Leo LeTourneau Merle Mevissen Bob Mueller Jim Gromberg, Staff Liaison The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Terry Miller, Chairman. A motion to accept the agenda was approved. The minutes of the October 3, 1988 Committee meeting were read and approved with the following correction: the report from Steve Bluhm, Chair, Municipal Operations should have the word 'possible' inserted to read -- identified possible goals of the sub-committee. ' ' Jim Gromberg explained the Celebrate Minnesota Project. Terry Miller will contact Glen Hardin to chair the project as it involves submitting grant applications. It was decided that each sub-committee should come up with a plan of action to be in- corporated into the over-all project. No funds have been budgeted for the KAB Committee in the City budget for the coming year. Financial resources may be available through the Landfill Commission or by going directly to the City Council. Sub-committee reports: Municipal operations: The following goals were identified- 1. Identify needs & special problems of the community possibly through a recycling letter. 2~ Review ordinances & policies regarding recycling. Determine their.effectiveness and identify any enforcement .problems. 'No budget has been set as yet. Communications & public relations: A letterhead is being developed. A possible curriculum for schools will be worked on. Business & industry: Identification of businesses and their contact person is beSng done. The sub-committee is seeking ideas on how to approach the businesses-possibly through a brochure or questionnaire.' The following sub-committee meetings were set: Business & Industry December 5 @'6:00 p.m. Communications & Public Relations November 21 @ 5:00 p.m. The next full Make the Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean Committee meeting will be December 5, 1988~ 7:00 p.m. at Ramsey Municipal Center. 'A motion by Leo LeTourneau and seconded by Bob Mueller to send Jim Gromberg to the KAB National Convention as Ramsey's representative, December 7-10, was approved.
