MAKE THE SCENE, KEEP RAMSEY CLEAN <br /> <br /> Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> <br /> November 7, 1988 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Terry Miller Kathi Peterson <br />Bruce Bacon Dave Bawden <br />Steve Bluhm Leo LeTourneau <br />Merle Mevissen Bob Mueller <br />Jim Gromberg, Staff Liaison <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Terry Miller, Chairman. <br /> <br />A motion to accept the agenda was approved. <br /> <br />The minutes of the October 3, 1988 Committee meeting were read and approved <br />with the following correction: the report from Steve Bluhm, Chair, Municipal <br />Operations should have the word 'possible' inserted to read -- identified <br />possible goals of the sub-committee. ' ' <br /> <br />Jim Gromberg explained the Celebrate Minnesota Project. Terry Miller will contact <br />Glen Hardin to chair the project as it involves submitting grant applications. It <br />was decided that each sub-committee should come up with a plan of action to be in- <br />corporated into the over-all project. <br /> <br />No funds have been budgeted for the KAB Committee in the City budget for the coming <br />year. Financial resources may be available through the Landfill Commission or by <br />going directly to the City Council. <br /> <br />Sub-committee reports: <br /> <br /> Municipal operations: The following goals were identified- <br /> 1. Identify needs & special problems of the community possibly <br /> through a recycling letter. <br /> 2~ Review ordinances & policies regarding recycling. <br /> Determine their.effectiveness and identify any enforcement <br /> .problems. <br />'No budget has been set as yet. <br /> <br />Communications & public relations: A letterhead is being developed. <br />A possible curriculum for schools will be worked on. <br /> <br /> Business & industry: Identification of businesses and their contact <br /> person is beSng done. The sub-committee is seeking ideas on how to <br /> approach the businesses-possibly through a brochure or questionnaire.' <br /> <br />The following sub-committee meetings were set: <br /> <br /> Business & Industry December 5 @'6:00 p.m. <br /> Communications & Public Relations November 21 @ 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The next full Make the Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean Committee meeting will be <br />December 5, 1988~ 7:00 p.m. at Ramsey Municipal Center. <br /> <br />'A motion by Leo LeTourneau and seconded by Bob Mueller to send Jim Gromberg <br />to the KAB National Convention as Ramsey's representative, December 7-10, <br />was approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
