Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #90-04- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING AND AWARDING BID~ FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />A MOWER FOR THE PARK DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for a mower for the Park Department, the <br />following bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law: <br /> <br />MacQueen Equipment Inc. <br /> Howard Price - Model 530 - Diesel <br /> <br />$ 8,799.00 <br /> <br />Scharber & Sons <br /> John Deere - Model 935 - Diesel <br /> <br />$ 9,295.00 <br /> <br />Kromer Co. <br /> Yazoo - Model Eagle V - Diesel <br /> <br />$10,200.00 <br /> <br />MTI Distributing Co. <br /> Toro Groundsmaster - Model 322 - Diesel <br /> <br />$10,383.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, MacQueen Equipment Inc. has the lowest bid for the mower; <br />however, MacQueen Equipment Inc. quoted a price on a Howard Price - Model 530 - Diesel and <br />there was none at the dealership to look at nor was there any in the area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Scharber & Sons has the lowest responsible bid meeting specifications for <br />the mower; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the mower currently owned by the Public Works Department is a John <br />Deere - Model 935 - diesel and its performance and liability are very satisfactory; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a lawn tractor(mower) was funded in the 1990 General Fund Budget in the <br />amount of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the purchase of the mower for the Park Department would exceed the <br />budget by an amount of One Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-five Dollars ($1,295.00); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the additional funds required for this purchase will be allocated from the <br />funds provided for a sprayer for the Park Department which will decrease the funds available for <br />the future purchase of a sprayer to a sum not to exceed Three Thousand Four Hundred Five <br />Dollars ($3,405.00). <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby authorize the purchase of a mower for the Park Department <br />fi'om Scharber & Sons in the amount of $9,295.00. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That this purchase shall be funded from the 1990 General Fund Budget, Park and <br />Recreation Sub-function, Capital Outlay or Account Number 101-45580-004520. <br /> <br /> <br />
