COUNTY OF ANOKA

Department of Highways
Paul K. I have three (3) comments on the development as follows:

A right turn lane currently exists for southbound traffic through
this area. That right turn lane was constructed for traffic
turning right onto Trunk Highway 10, so there would be no
purpose in building any additional width for southbound
traffic.

Our preference would be to have the driveway that accesses
Armstrong Boulevard eliminated since this property will have
access to .146th Avenue. Our general policy would be to not
permit access to the County Highway. Particularly since this
property will access through to the commercial site to the
south, I think this access to Armstrong Boulevard could be
eliminated.

o

Through this area where left turns could occur at 146th
Avenue a bypass lane is a good idea, however, it would entail
rather extensive construction. The bypass lane itself would
need to be approximately fourteen (14) feet wide, eight of
which is already constructed as a shoulder, however, those
eight feet would need to be strengthened and the additional six
feet added. The total length of the bypass lane would need to
be approximately 700 feet in length, 380 feet would be in
advance of the intersection and 230 feet beyond the

Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
