CC Regular Session 4. 13. <br />Meeting Date: 11/12/2013 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #1-11-199 to Accept the City Administrator's Performance Evaluation <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to accept the City Administrator's annual performance evaluation. <br />As part of the one year, 360 degree performance evaluation for the City Administrator, direct reports, members of <br />the City Council, several Key Community Partners, and the City Administrator completed electronic performance <br />evaluations. Subsequently, the results were compiled and the Mayor and City Administrator met to discuss the <br />results of the evaluation. <br />At the City Council meetings held October 15 and 29, 2013, the Council met in closed sessions to conduct an <br />annual performance evaluation of City Administrator Kurt Ulrich, as required by his employment agreement. The <br />sessions were closed pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 13D.05, subdivision 3(a). <br />After far-ranging and detailed discussions about the City Administrator position and the interactions of the <br />Administrator with the Council, staff and public, the Council and Mr. Ulrich reviewed the duties, responsibilities, <br />and expectations of the position and established goals of the Administrator in the following areas: <br />• Community involvement <br />• Leadership <br />• Support of the Mayor and Council <br />• Fiscal management <br />• Council communications <br />• Staff development <br />The Council and City Administrator agreed to review progress toward the established goals in approximately six <br />months. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />None. <br />Funding Source: <br />Not applicable. <br />Recommendation: <br />To accept Mr. Kurt Ulrich's annual performance evaluation and review the above listed functions in approximately <br />six months. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #13-11-199 accepting Mr. Kurt Ulrich's performance evaluation for the time period of <br />September 2012 through September 2013 and to review progress toward the established goals in approximately six <br />months. <br />
