RESOLUTION #13-11-187 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE CENTRAL <br />PARK TO ALPINE DRIVE TRAIL <br />WHEREAS, access to parks, trails, and recreation areas, are essential to the quality of life, <br />health and welfare of the city of Ramsey and the state's residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the Central Park to Alpine Park Trail provides important connections within <br />the community, and Ramsey also recived a $100,000.00 reimbursement grant from the State of <br />Minnestoa DNR; and <br />WHEREAS, the abovementioned trail will generate additional economic activity within <br />The COR and for Ramsey's businesses, and likewise support Game Fair; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion of the Ramsey City Council, adopted September 24, <br />2013, authorizing the preparations of plans and specifications and advertisement for bids for the <br />trail; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated, and the following bids were found <br />to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />Bidder Bid <br />North Metro Asphalt, Hain Lake $186,141.02 <br />Dryden Excavating, Nowthen $201,012.12 <br />New Look Contracting, Elk River $205.659.75 <br />North Valley, Nowthen $207,752.41 <br />Oinann Brothers, Albertville $218,26 ►.67 <br />Blackstone Construction, Corcoran $230,836.13 <br />Hardrives Inc., Rogers $232,925.97 <br />North Pine Aggregate, Forest Lake $254,730.70 <br />Barber Construction, St. Bonifacius $283,925.00 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of North Metro Asphalt & Contracting of Ham Lake, Minnesota, in <br />the amount of $186,141.02 for the construction of said improvements is accordance with the <br />approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and <br />their bid shall be hereby are accepted; and <br />WHEREAS, up to $100,000 in reimbursements are contractually obligated to the City <br />from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for the trail construction project, with the <br />balance of monies dedicated from the Park Trust Fund estimated to be between $72,283 and a not - <br />to -exceed amount of $86,141.02. <br />RESOLUTION #13-11-XXX <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
