CASE <br /> <br /> CURBSIDE RECYCLING <br />By: James Gromberg, Project Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />With the passage of the SCORE legislation in late 1989, the City of Ramsey will be <br />required to provide a curbside recycling program for all of its residents by October 1, 1990. <br />The City Staff, in an effort to provide the best possible program for the residents of the <br />City of Ramsey, has conducted a survey with all of the currently licensed refuse haulers in <br />the City. The results of this survey have been tabulated and compiled. After compiling the <br />results of the survey, the City Staff has come up with two different types of curbside <br />recycling programs that could be offered to the residents of Ramsey. For each type of <br />program, the City Staff has identified certain advantages and disadvantages to that program <br />type. The City Staff has also looked at some of the problems associated with each program <br />in funding and the final cost to the residents and to the City itself. These types of programs <br />are only suggestions to the City Council and are not meant to limit the choices that the City <br />Council may decide upon.
