HUNTERS HILL PROPERTY OWNERS

City Of Ramsey
15153 No, then Blvd. N.W.
Ramsey, Minensota 55303

ATTN:

City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission

RE:

Hunters Hill Petition
144th Lane N.W. Cul-de-sac

Gentlemen:

The Hunters Hill Property Owners hereby, submit a Petition
and its attachments for the purpose of a Cul-de-sac, as
described, on 144th Lane N.W.

The Hunters Hill Property Owners find that the continuation
of 144th Lane N.W., makinG it a thru street from Sunfish Lake
Blvd. into the proposed Cedar Hills and subsequently, Good
V~tue Homes and Chestnut Hills Developments is NOT an accept-
able solution to the traffic flow problems associated with
these developments.

The Hunters Hill Property Owners find that this would cause
excessive traffic through our residential area, cresting
unnecessary congestion, traffic hazards and general nuisance°

EXCESSIVE TRAFFIC

Traffic would be flowing from an Urban Residential area into
a Rural Residential area. With an estimate of 8 vehicle trips
per household per day (VTD) and a conservative estimate of
30 additional households that would use the 144th Lane route
because of its close proximity, the traffic through Hunters
Hill would increase by 240 VTD. This is in ~ddition to the
existinG 232 VTD created by our own use(29xS). This represents
i00~ pl~ increase per day. People will automatically take the
shortest distance to reach the collector routes and thoroughfares
to reach their destination. For many homes in the proposed
urban housing developments this would be thru Hunters Hill on
!~th Lane N.W. and/or including !43rd Lane N.W. because of
the configuration of the Hunters Hill neighborhood, (See
attached map.), thus ~ffectinG al! of Hunters Hill.

The streets in Hunters Hill are cf a different standard, design
and construction than that recuired for ~n Urban Area. As
volume/speed increase the function should be expressed in the
physical design to facilitate the need.

The streets in Hunters Hill were petitioned for and paid for by
its property owners. These streets are the typical Bituminous
Rural Street which is 24' wide, ~ith 4" class 5 Gravel base
