I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, <br /> N.~., Ramsey, <br />May 1, 1990 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. ' ' <br />Minnesota regarding a request for preliminary plat approval of Nonhfork 5th Addition. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman .,- <br /> Mr. Charles LaDue <br /> Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br /> Mr. David Bawden <br /> Mr. Ben Deemer <br /> Mr. Mike Terry <br /> Mr. Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Planning Assistant Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Dennis Peck - Director of Development - North Fork, Inc. - 713 Bradford, Champlin - <br />Stated that in response to concerns expressed by the members of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission during concept review of Northfork 5th, some alterations were made in the <br />plat and the number of driveways accessing onto Jarvis Sn-eet has been reduced to two. At <br />the concept review, Planning and Zoning was a~m'eeable to the number of driveways onto <br />153rd and granting variances to the north and south end cul-de-sac ten~m, hs. With respect to <br />drainage, North Fork's engineers have been in contact with City En~neer Raatikka and he <br />seems comfortable with the on-site ponding that is proposed. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Alan Pearson was presented and requested that the theow of a planned unit <br />development be explained. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that a planned unit development allows a developer to plat <br />with smaller lots in exchange for pro¼ding an increased open space area. Even though <br />some of the lots in this particular plat are 1 acre in size, the overall density remains to b,: at <br />one unit per 2.5 acres. <br /> <br />Mr, Ortenetroer was present along with Dan and Alice McGinnis.
