Thau was ~ne city ordinance numbar <br />90-7. The Council passed an ordinance which p£aced a <br />mo£atorium on ~ne siting of the ad~t~ entertainment in <br />the city w~ile we were doing s~udies. <br /> <br /> At the time of ~ne adopaion of ~na~ ordinance, I was <br />mindful and I advised the Council that the city does <br /> <br />~ave ~ne ability ac eliminate adult en~e~ainmena u~es in <br />the city. However, i~ can, as I've just explained fairly <br />lengthy, it can regulate them to a ce£Uain extent. The <br />idea of the o~dinance was ~o put a moratorium on the <br />siting of an adult enze£~ainmen~ while we studied <br />secondary affects of adult entertainment and de~erm~ned <br />now we s~ouid reguia~ t~eir siting and location. <br /> <br /> The lawsuit asked the U.S. Distric~ Court to place a <br />restraining o£de£ on our enforcemanc of that ordinance. <br />It piac~d a criminai prosecution for tae violation of an <br /> <br />ADA~4S COURT REPORTING <br /> <br />($12) 375-9150 <br /> <br /> <br />
