City of Ramsey

15153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W.o RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 · (612) 427-1410

June 8, 1990

Commissioner Bob Burman, Chairman
Public Works Committee
Anoka County Courthouse
Anoka, MN 55303

Re:

Application for License for Bike/Pedway
Within County ROW Near North Forty Addition

Dear Commissioner Burman& Committee Members:

The city of Ramsey is in the process of developing a trail system
within the City. To the extent possible, the trail rights-of-way
are separated from roads. At times, this will not be possible and,
therefore, we anticipate connecting segments of trail within road
and street rights-of-way.

We are, at this time, requesting a license permitting future
development of approximately 450 lineal feet of combined bike and
pedestrian trail within the County 83 right-of-way in the NW
quarter of Section 16. The trail would be an 8' bituminous
treadway located within the outermost 18 feet of the east side of
the road. The attachment indicates the approximate alignment.
Development of the trail is not anticipated to occur for th9 next
few years. ~ ~ 4.

In preliminary discussions with County highway engineer, Jon Olsen,
the proposed trail meets County standards for separation from
pavement edge. It is understood that the City would be responsible
for all construction and maintenance costs associated with the
trail.
