<br />Councilmember LeTourneauintroduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #13-11-198 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ANOKA COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL <br />HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> the State of Minnesota has ordained that every county and incorporated <br />municipality in the state is required to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by the Minnesota <br />Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, to maintain eligibility for state <br />disaster assistance after November 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) under the <br />Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 has ordained that every county and incorporated municipality <br />within the county is required to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by FEMA in order to be <br />eligible for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Funding for Presidential disasters declared after <br />November 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency (FEMSA) has issued an Interim Final Rule that details the minimum criteria <br />for local hazard mitigation plans; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey agrees with the concept of and necessity for hazard <br />mitigation planning; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Anoka County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee recommends the <br />adoption of the Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency <br />Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have conducted a review of and <br />approved the Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby adopt the Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional <br />th <br />Hazard Mitigation Plan as submitted this 12 day of November 2013, the public welfare <br />requiring it. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
