<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #13-11-189 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />at the February 12, 2013, City Council meeting, staff was authorized to <br />conduct a recruitment process to fill the Economic Development Manager position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> staff has worked for some time now in an effort to seek an exceptional <br />economic development professional; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />Mr. Ted LaFrance has been selected as the top candidate for the Economic <br /> <br />Development Manager position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> staff has completed the necessary background checks and is recommending <br />that Mr. Ted LaFrance be hired as the City’s Economic Development Manager at $35.17 per <br /> <br />hour, effective November 18, 2013, with a credit of five vacation days. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) Motion to approve resolution #13-11-189, to hire Mr. Ted LaFrance as the City’s new <br />Economic Development Manager, effective November 18, 2013, at $35.17 per hour with <br />a credit of five vacation days. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Johns, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> Councilmember Backous <br /> Councilmember Tossey <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
