Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AMENDING THE POLICY <br />FOR APPOINTING BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council would like its practices and written policies for <br />reappointing board and commission members to be consistent. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to amend the Policy for Appointing Board and Commission <br />Members as follows: <br /> <br />Section 5. Reapplication process <br /> <br />a) Letter of intent <br /> <br />Members of City boards and commissions who wish to serve a <br />consecutive term of office must notify the City Council of their intent at <br />least two months before the expiration of the current term of office. To <br />remind the incumbent of the impending deadline, the Human Resources <br />Manager or the Assistant City Administrator will notify commission <br />members three months in advance of the expiration of their terms and <br />invite them to complete and submit a letter of interest highlighting <br />accomplishments, personal contributions to the commission and ideas for <br />improving the effectiveness of the commission for review by the <br />evaluation panel.
