Pontius
4761 153RD LN NW
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303

Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission Vacancy

Dear Ms. Reed,

My name is James Pontius, and I would like to be considered as a potential candidate for
Ramsey's Park and Recreation Commission Vacancy.

! have lived in Ramsey since 1997, and over the last six years, I have witnessed this rural town's
tremendous growth. Although I favor benefits prompted by my community's carefully measured
development efforts, I'm also aware of difficulties associated with the expansion. Of these, the
utilization of Ramsey's Park and Recreation areas concerns me.' As a mountain bike enthusiast
I've visited most of Ramsey's current parks. I've also used the parks for sports and for
recreation purposes. As it goes, I've been thoroughly impressed with my community's open and
beautiful parks. If chosen to represent Ramsey on the Park and Recreation Commission, I would
work to ensure that others share a similar welcoming experience with Ramsey parks. As Ramsey
continues to grow, demand for an accessible park system should also increase. I could attend
monthly meetings, and I would also be able to give additional time if necessary, to satisfy the
town's varied park needs.

Thank you for the brief time you have spent reviewing my letter. I have also enclosed my
resume.

Sincerely, /

James E. Pontius
(763) 712 - 1859
