CASE <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND REQUEST FOR VACATION OF EASEMENT <br />FOR DRAINAGE PURPOSES IN SECTION 28; <br /> CASE OF RAMSEY TOWN CENTER LLC <br />By: Patrick Trudgeon, AICP Assistant Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City Council approved Ramsey Town Center Final Plat on September 23, 2003. As part of <br />that plat, a drainage and utility easement was' created to cover the wetlands located in the <br />northwest quadrant of the site (at the intersection of Hwy. 116 and Armstrong Blvd.). As part of <br />the project to extend Hwy. 116 to Armstrong Blvd. a few years ago, the City acquired an <br />easement for drainage purposes. With the creation of the new drainage and utility easement for <br />the Ramsey Town Center Addition, this existing easement is no longer necessary. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Exhibit of underlying easements to be vacated <br />Proposed ordinance <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State Statute, City Staff attempted to notify property owners within 350 feet <br />of the subject property of the public hearing to vacate easements. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />A public hearing and ordinance adoption is required in order to vacate easements. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends introduction of the enclosed ordinance to vacate existing easement. Staff <br />will not bring back the ordinance for adoption until the f'mal plat of Ramsey Town Center <br />Addition is recorded. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to introduce Ordinance #03- <br />Northwest Quarter of the Northwest <br />County. <br /> <br />~ to vacate the easement for drainage purposes within the <br /> Quarter of Section 28, Township 32, Range 25, Anoka <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Asst.
