Print Agenda Item <br />CC Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 11/26/2013 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Discussion Regarding the Recruitment, Application, and Interview Process for Boards and <br />Commissions <br />Purpose /Background: <br />The purpose of this discussion is to consider revising the policy for the recruitment, application, and <br />interview process of appointing City board and commission members. <br />After the last annual recruitment process, it was the the consensus of the City Council to request a <br />review of the process of filling board and commission seats. The Policy for Appointing Board and <br />Commission Members is attached; draft edits have been made for the purpose of discussion and <br />revision. <br />It is important to note, appointments to the Economic Development Authority are made by the <br />Mayor as allowed by Minnesota Statute and the term length is six years. <br />Timeframe: <br />Staff will move ahead based on the City Council's work - session discussion and direction as it relates <br />to the City's Board and Commission process /terms ending March 31, 2014.
