SECTION 09260 <br />GYPSUM WALLBOARD SYSTEM <br />PART 1- GENERAL <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION <br />A. Work included: <br />1. Gypsum wallboard <br />2. Accessories and trim for complete installation. <br />3. Ceilings. <br />B. Related Work: <br />1. Documents affecting work of this Section include, but are not necessarily <br />limited to, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and Sections <br />in Division 1 of these Specifications. <br />1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Use adequate numbers of skilled workers who are thoroughly trained and <br />experienced in the necessary crafts and who are completely familiar with the <br />specified requirements and the methods needed for proper performance of the <br />work of this Section. <br />B. Comply with design criteria for systems as designed by the manufacturer. <br />1.3 PRODUCT HANDLING <br />A. Comply with pertinent provisions of Section 01640. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 GYPSUM WALLBOARD <br />A. General: <br />1. Provide gypsum wallboard complying with Fed Spec SS-L-30D, in 48" <br />widths and in such lengths as will result in a minimum of joints. <br />2. Regular wallboard: Provide type III, grade R, class 1, 5/8" thick except as <br />may be shown otherwise on the Drawings. <br />3. Fire -retarding wallboard: Provide type III, grade X, class 1, 5/8" thick. <br />4. Water-resistant wallboard: Provide type VII, grade W or X as required, <br />class 2, 5/8" thick except as may be shown otherwise on the Drawings. <br />5. Fiberock abuse -resistant interior panels in all public locations ( except <br />bathrooms & wet areas). <br />09260-1 <br />
