There are no City Council or Council Committee meetings the week of December <br />23. <br />Mayor /Council Sponsored — Employee Holiday Appreciation Event. <br />Monday, December 23r - Homemade Cookies and Coffee — <br />7:00 -8:00 am at the Public Works Building on Jaspar Street and <br />8:00 -9:30 am at City Hall in the Lake Itasca Room. Attached to the <br />Weekly Update is the Mayor /Council Holiday Appreciation Event Flyer. <br />City Offices Closed - December 24 and 25 in observance of <br />Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. <br />Council Update <br />December 19, 2013 <br />Granny's Closet. A reminder again that there is a drop box at City Hall, to collect items for <br />Granny's closet. It's a non - profit organization that collects clothing, toiletries, bedding, etc. <br />(new /unwrapped) for low income seniors in the Anoka County area. They help between 400 and <br />800 seniors. The box will be picked up on December 23. <br />Engineering. <br />Improvement Project Updates — <br />• Highway 10 /Armstrong Boulevard Interchange - <br />o Anoka County has contracted with SRF Consulting Group to complete final design <br />plans and specifications by spring /summer 2014. <br />o A public Open House was held on Wednesday, December 1l <br />o Future Open Houses are tentatively planned for February and May of 2014. <br />o Construction is proposed to begin in the fall of 2014, contingent on receiving the <br />necessary remaining funding before then. <br />o Construction duration is currently estimated at 18 to 22 months. <br />o More information on this project, including project contact information, is available <br />@ http: / /www.highway1Oandarmstrong.com <br />• Riverdale Drive Extension and Reconstruction - <br />o Construction will occur in 2014. <br />• Armstrong Boulevard Trail (Alpine Drive - 161S Avenue) - <br />o Right -of -way staking and tree removal operations are underway. <br />o Tall stumps will be left in place over winter to allow for better visibility by <br />snowmobilers. <br />
