WMMI stated that material in a
compost pile is the same material found on forest floors and
not associated with groundwater contamination and that studies
have shown that there has not been significant contamination
problems because of compost sites.

That odor may be a concern if the site is not properly managed.

That the groundwater pollution may be a concern if the site is
not properly managed.

That the additional traffic generated by the proposed use does
not appear to be significant.

That WMHI proposes that the site hours would be the same as
those for the adjacent landfill.

That the permit being sought is for a term of 4.5 years.

That WHMI has stated that the piles would be monitored for
temperature, oxygen, Ph, moisture content, physical appearance
and odors.

That WMMI has stated that the proposed method of composting is
the Rutger's Method, low level technology.

That WMMI stated that no additional oxygen induction system
will be used and it has proposed to turn the piles once a month
or more often as monitoring indicates is necessary.
