CASE # 4 <br /> <br />RECEIVE BIDS FOR RIVER'S BEND PARK <br />HANDICAPPED RAILS AND ACCESS GATE <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 90-29 <br /> By: Merland Otto <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City Council approved the plans and adopted Resolution 90-09- <br />309 authorizing preparation of plans for Improvement Project 90- <br />29. As you recall, this project is being financed through the <br />reallocation of approximately $26,000 of economic development <br />revolving loan funds. <br /> <br />This portion of the project was for fabrication and installation <br />of handicap rails and access entry road gates. Another portion of <br />the project was the paving of the access road from the north <br />parking lot to the "bebo" (approximate cost $6,300.00). <br /> <br />Notices of availability of plans and a bid ad were sent directly <br />to all local metal workers listed in area yellow pages to try to <br />obtain local bids. In addition, the bid ad was placed in the Anoka <br />Union and Construction Bulletin. <br /> <br />Only two bids were received, that of Selby Ornamental Iron Co. and <br />that of DNCON, Inc. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a draft of the proposed resolution for your adoption, <br />a bid tab and our recommendation. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Adopt Resolution 90-11- accepting bids for <br />Handrails and Access Gate and awarding a <br />Ornamental Iron Co. for such improvements. <br /> <br />River's Bend Park <br />contract to Selby <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Engineer <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Supt. <br /> <br />CC: 11/27/90 <br /> <br /> <br />
