Case ~2: ~eouest For Ammroval Of Plans To Rea]i~n State Hwy. ~47: City Administrator David Rartley stated that the proposed realignment of H~y. ~47 would follow Dysprosium Street NW to it's intersection with Industry Avenue NW and proceed through the City of Anoka Industrial Park to the new Thurston Avenue Bridge and Highway ~10. Mr. Martley stated that the Road and Bridge Committee has recommended approval of the proposed realignment through the Flintwood Hills Subdivision and the Kenneth Law property. Mr. Rartely also noted that the State does not currently have funds to acquire the right-of-way and the Road and Bridge Committee recommended that the City acquire the necessary easements; 150 foot wide right-of-ways would be required. County Commissioner Natalie Haas-Steffen and County Engineer Bill Sironen were present and reviewed possible alignments for Hwy. ~47. Developers Art Raudio and Lyle McLaughlin were present, expressed concern with the proposed realignments as they relate to their developments and requested to be notified of any future meetings on this subject. County Commissioner Haas-Steffen stated that she does not believe the State will be interested in participating in any alignment that does not address Mwys. ~5 and ~7 as well as the 'S' curve. She also reported that the State has discussed, but not committed to, getting Federal or State safety dollars because of hazards and detours caused. Lyle McLaughlin addressed his developer's agreement for property on Hwy. 47 that is proposed for removal. He is concerned with the remaining assessments on that property as well as being in the final stages of development of a shopping center and car wash along the present highway. Mr. McLaughlin suggested that Hwy. ~47 be realigned in the same general area, west of River's Bend Plaza. Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to table this case until the next City Council meeting to allow for further discussion and review. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, DeLuca and Pearson. Voting ~o: ~one. Case ~3: Reouest For Apgroval Of Proposed Realignment Of County Road ~83 (Armstron~ Blvd,): City AAministrator 1~artley reviewed the proposed realignment of County Rd. %83. County Commissioner Haas-Steffen noted that the right-of-way acquisition would be the County's responsibility.
