CASE CHARTER COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS BY: Kay McAioney, Personnel Coordinator Background: Of the members on the Charter Commission, five have terms that expired on May 11, 1989. The remaining four have terms expiring on May 11, 1991. The Charter Commission members and their expiration dates arc as follows: EXPIRATION DATE 5-11-89 Thomas Gamec Barbara Graen Thomas Greenberg Bemard Steffen Curtiss Tittered EXPIRATION DATE 5-11-91 Richard Sieber (Chair) Stanley Data VACANCY John Lichter At the September 10, 1990 regular City Council meeting there was discussion that the vacancies should be advertised to see if there was interest by other members of the community to serve on the Charter Commission. An advertisement was placed in the Ramsey Resident newsletter that was distributed in late September. Applications were to be submitted by October 15, 1990 if interested. There were no applications received. Minnesota State law states that an individual can only serve two terms. At the November 13, 1990 City Council meeting, Council authorized submitting to the Chief District Court Judge the following names to serve on the Charter Commission: Fred Streeter, Dennis Donovan and Richard Netzloff. Those three individuals will replace Thomas Gamec, Thomas Greenberg and Curtiss Titterud. City Administrator David Hartley will send a letter to the Chief District Court Judge submitting those applicants. Richard Sieber, Chairperson for the Charter Commission, was contacted and scheduled Wednesday, December 19, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. as the meeting date.
