Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g90-12- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF MOVING EXPENSES <br /> THAT ARE DEDUCTIBLE BY THE EMPLOYEE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the employment offer to, and acceptance by, Steven Jankowski, <br />City Engineer, included the lump sum payment of One Thousand and No/100 Dollars <br />($1,000.00) for moving expenses; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Form <br />4782 states that payments for moving expenses that are deductible by the City's employee <br />are not subject to withholding; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, moving expenses are an allowable itemized income tax deduction <br />subject to certain dollar limits detailed in Publication 521 which has been obtained from the <br />Internal Revenue Service and given to Mr. Jankowski; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Jankowski will be itemizing deductions and filing the required <br />Form 3903 for moving expenses. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />The Finance Office is instructed to make payment of the One Thousand Dollars <br />($1,000.00) to employee Steven Jankowski and report same to the Internal <br />Revenue Service as not subject to withholding. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councitmember and voted being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 18th day of December, 1990. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
