OPERATIONAL PLAN <br />ADDENDUM A <br /> <br />Transmission Cleaning <br /> <br />While cleaning is a necessary part of recycling aluminum trans- <br />missions, it can be carefully done to assure oil is contain'ed <br />and disposed of properly. <br /> <br />Transmissions awaiting cleaning will be stored in <br />covered leak-proof containers until brought into <br />the Shop Building (B-5) for disassembly. <br /> <br />Transmissions would be unloaded onto a steel-over- <br />.concrete floor with leak-proof edges. The floor <br />will be sloped to collect oil that may leak. <br /> <br />Transmissions will be disassembled on a bench de- <br />signed to catch and direct the oil to.a holding tank. <br /> <br />Steel removed from the transmissions will be placed <br />in leak-proof containers until shipment. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Transmission oil will be screened and used as fuel <br />in the melt furnace or hauled by an authorized <br />waste oil recycler. <br /> <br /> <br />
