The three American
Linden in Peltzer Park were vandalized. This was confirmed in
Hakanson Anderson's October 8th letter. The remaining eleven
trees could not be dug until the first hard frost or October
15th. Noble Nursery contacted you at Hakanson Anderson the
first week of November with regards to six of the trees in so
far as using our 80" tree spade to replace them. It was agreed
upon by all that this would be okay. We immediately started
moving the large trees, but where the trees were located on our
tree farm is a lower area and our spade got stuck. Suffice to"
say, only one of the six trees was moved. We were waiting for
the ~eather to get colder which would enable us to finish the ....
five remaining trees, however given the unusually warm temperat-
ures and the snow cover, it is still too wet to get to the trees.
We did not feel we could do a good job with those five trees at ' ....
this time and intended to finish them by May 1991. The other five .'
trees Noble Nursery intended to plant the middle of November.
Hakanson Anderson was again called and we were told that
present knew where the three Ash trees were to be planted. Tree
planting then got delayed until December 11, 1990 as Merland~[.
Otto confirms in his December 13th letter.

We feel that your recommendation to the Council is somewhat
harsh considering that Noble Nursery has abided by all of the~.terl])s

An Equal Opportunity Employer

m mm mi i ,
