ORDINANCE #91-X <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING MINNESOTA STATE FIRE CODE SECTION 10.208 <br />"PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS, COMMERCIAL, RESIDENTIAL, PRIVATE <br />AND PUBLIC", BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 8.02 TO THE CITY CODE, <br />WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "PROPERTY iDENTIFICATION NUMBERS-. <br /> <br />The city of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. CITY CODE AMENDMENT <br /> <br />City Code Section 8.02 is added to the City code, which <br />addition shall provide as follows: <br /> <br />8.02.01 <br /> <br />The owner of every residential, commercial or industrial <br />structure, whether public or private, shall place house <br />or building numbers, as herein provided, on the <br />structure. This shall not apply to barns, private <br />garages or other similar accessory buildings or <br />structures used in connection with buildings or permanent <br />structures displaying building numbers. <br /> <br />8.02.02 <br /> <br />Location, Size and Shape: Each number of the street <br />address of a structure shall be attached to the structure <br />and shall be located in a position near the front door <br />of each structure so as to be clearly visible from the <br />street or road and not obstructed by vegetation or other <br />structures. If the structure is more than 100 feet from <br />the street or road, a separate post with numbers attached <br />shall be placed within 30 feet of the street or road <br />identifying the number of the structure on the property. <br />If the structure abuts an alley, building numbers shall <br />be attached in a conspicuous location to the alley side <br />of the structure. If a garage or similar accessory <br />building obstructs the view of the main structure from <br />the alley, the building numbers for the structure shall <br />be placed in a conspicuous location on the garage or <br />accessory building. Each number of the address shall be <br />three (3) inches or greater in height and shall be o.f a <br />color that contrasts with the color of the background to <br />which it is attached. The number shall be in Arabic <br />form. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />The effective date of this Ordinance is thirty (30) days after its <br />passage and publication, subject to City Charter Section 5.04. <br /> <br /> <br />
