CASE #2 <br /> <br /> REPORT FROM NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE <br />BY: Kay McAIoney, Personnel Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey Negotiating Committee consisting of Councilmembers <br />Beyer, Hardin and Peterson, and Personnel Coordinator Kay McAIoney met on <br />March 6, 1991 to discuss wages and benefits for exempt employees for 1991. <br />The following is a list of changes in wages and benefits as proposed by the <br />Negotiating Committee: <br /> <br />Increase City contribution on insurance from $195 to $230 per <br />month. <br />Increase holidays from 10.5 to 11 days, adding the .5 to Christmas <br />Eve. <br />Increase wages as follows: <br />Salary grades 1 through 3: 4,5% <br />Salary grades 3.5 through 5.5: 4% <br />Salary grades 6.through 7.5: 3.75% <br />Salary grade 8: 3.5% <br /> <br />The Negotiating Committee has also stated that all positions will be reviewed <br />by the Personnel Coordinator and Department Heads within the next six months. <br />If adjustments are identified to bring positions comparable to cities with <br />populations between 10,000 and 20,000, the financial impact and the <br />implementation plan will be presented to the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />The exempt employees have received a copy of the changes in wages and <br />benefits in the form of a memorandum from the Negotiating Committee. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council accept the recommendations of the <br />City of Ramsey Negotiating Committee for the changes in wages and benefits <br />for the exempt employees for 1991. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve/not approve the changes in wages and benefits for the <br />exempt employee for 1991 as specified in the above plan. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />Acting City Administrator <br />Negotiating Committee <br />Personnel Coordinator <br /> <br />CC; 3/1 3/91 <br /> <br /> <br />
