March 7, 1991

Ms. Kay McAloney
Personnel Coordinator
City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Boulevard
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303

Dear Ms. McAloney:

I am interested in applying for the Charter Commission vacancy.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota, I majored in geography
and minored in political science. I continue to be actively
interested in the workings of government at all levels--city,
county, state, and national.

As a relatively new resident of Ramsey, I am concerned that our
City realize as positive a residential and commercial growth as
possible. Having a properly executed and timely charter is basic
to the process of a well-run government. I would like to
contribute to that process as a member of the Charter Commission.
While serving, I would look forward to meeting the many people
who are contributing to the development of our City.

I have been employed in the insurance industry since graduation
from college, working at both the independent agency and company
levels. During this time, I have been in underwriting, manage-
ment, sales, marketing, and automation. I have a total of 20
years service time with my current employer, AEtna Life &
Casualty.

I hope to be able to serve the City of Ramsey and look forward to
hearing from you regarding this position. Please feel free to
call me either at work (340-5036) or at .home (441-0457).

Rodne~ O. Nelson
9335 - 173rd Avenue NW.
Ramsey, MN 55303
