MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Ramsey City Council <br /> <br />CC: <br /> <br />William Goodrich, City Attorney <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: April 12, 1991 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: REIMBURSEMENT FOR CERTAIN LEGAL COSTS <br /> <br />On October 22, 1990, the City submitted a request for reimbursement of certain legal costs <br />incurred in the "Schneider and Holmberg, Plaintiffs, against City of Ramsey, Defendant" <br />lawsuit. This request was submitted to GAB Business Services, Inc. and their check in the <br />amount of $15,550.00 has just been received. <br /> <br />It should be noted that while we have received payment in the full amount of the <br />reimbursement request, when the case is closed the City will be billed by GAB for 15% of <br />all costs incurred in this defense. Since August of 1990, Holmes and Graven has been <br />invoicing GAB directly for their services in this regard. <br /> <br />The Finance Office will establish $2,333.00 (15% of the $15,550.00 payment received) as <br />an amount due to GAB at this time in recognition of the future liability or cost. <br /> <br />At the time we submitted the request for reimbursement, I asked if the services of our City <br />Attorney in this regard would also be eligible. GAB has responded that it is possible some <br />of these expenses may also be eligible for reimbursement. City Attorney Goodrich and I <br />will pursue this potential reimbursement. <br /> <br /> <br />
