Total cost if 100% of the 38 employees <br />in the "at risk" group receive the vaccination, would be approximately $5,000.00. <br /> <br />All employees would receive a packet containing: a Hepatitis B Vaccine Policy stating the <br />policy, procedures, and implementation; Important Information About Hepatitis B and <br />Hepatitis B Vaccine with information on symptoms, statistics, effectiveness of the <br />~,ar.:cination, who should be vaccinated, possible side effects from the vaccine, and <br />vaccination during pregnancy; and a Hepatitis B Vaccine Consent/Refusal Form that will be <br />kept in each employee's personnel file. <br /> <br />The Budget Comnfittee directed staff to prepare this case to present to City Council. <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />The Budget Committee and staff recommend that the Hepatitis B Vaccination Policy be <br />approved and implemented and the Finance Officer recommends the funding be provided <br />from the General Fund - fund balance. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve/not approve the policy for Hepatitis B Vaccination, direct staff to <br />proceed with the implementation of the Policy, and direct the Finance Officer to prepare a <br />Budget Amendment confirming Council's direction for the consent agenda of the next <br />regularly scheduled Council meeting. <br /> <br />Reviewed Checklist: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator <br />Budget Committee <br />Personnel Coordinator <br />Police Chief <br /> <br />CC:5/14/91 <br /> <br /> <br />
