A I D S <br /> <br />The A-I-D-S stand for Acquired Immune <br /> letters <br /> Deficiency Syndrome. When a person is sick with <br />AIDS, he/she is in the final stages ora series of health prob- <br />lems caused by a virus (germ) that can be passed from one <br />person to another chiefly during sexual contact or through <br />the sh,mng ofinu'avenous drug needles and syringes used <br />for "saootmg" drags. Sdentists have named the AIDS virus <br />"HIV or I-1TW-III or I. AV'L These abbreviations stand for <br />information denoting a virus that attacks white blood cells <br />(T-Lymphocytes) in the human blood. Throughout this <br />publication, we will call the virus the "AIDS virus."
