I

I
I
I
I
i
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

CASE

LICENSE APPROVAL FOR ON-SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR
By: Mike Auspos, Police Chief

Background:

I have completed the necessary checks for the renewal of Licenses for on-sale intoxicating liquor
license holders and have received from them, with one exception as of this date, the necessary
documents for renewal. Super Bowl, Inc. has provided the name of their insurance provider,
however, we have not received as yet the document showing actual coverage and dates. The
establishments up for renewal are:

SJS, Inc.
Super Bowl, Inc.
RRM Enterprises
Johnathan Ross, Inc.

dba Jimmy B's American Cafe and Lounge
dba Super Bowl
dba McDuffs Eatery & Pub
dba JR's Saloon & Food and JR's Outback

I have not yet received from the Fire Department the results of their inspections of the listed
premises. While I can find nothing in our ordinance specifically requiring a Fire Department
inspection, the application does have a sign-off for the Fire Department and the ordinance does
state that all conditions of the application will be fulf'flled before issuance or renewal of the license.
In the past, Councils have renewed licenses contingent upon an "Okay" by the Fire Department
within thirty (30) days of approval. At this point, I am not sure where we would stand if an
applicant for renewal failed to meet fire inspection standards.

Recommendation:

I recommend that the City Council approve the above-named renewal applicants with the
contingency that Super Bowl, Inc. provide proof of insurance prior to actual issuance of the 1991
license. If proof of insurance is not provided by midnight June 30, 1991, the license will not be
issued. Also, the approval is contingent upon satisfactory fire inspections.

Review Checklist:

Police Chief
City Adminiswator
City Attorney
Fire Chief

CC:06-25-91

107
