Personnel Policy § 3.20 <br /> <br />3.20.19 Retirement policy. Every employee to whom Minnesota <br />Statutes 181.81 and 181.811 applies is entitled to the benefits afforded by <br />those sections subject to the conditions herein prescribed. <br /> <br />3.20.20 Unlawful acts. <br /> <br /> Subdivision1. No person shall knowingly make any false <br />statement, certificate, mark, rating, or report in regard to any test, <br />certificate, or appointment held or made under the city personnel system or <br />in any manner commit or attempt to commit any fraud preventing the <br />impartial execution of the provisions of this chapter. <br /> <br /> Sub,L2. No person seeking employment to or promotion in <br />the municipal service shall either directly or indirectly give, render, or pay <br />any money, service, or other valuable consideration to any person, or on <br />account of or in connection with the employee's test, appointment, or <br />promotion, or proposed appointment of promotion. <br /> <br /> Sub& 3. No person shall be employed, promoted, demoted, or <br />discharged by the city or in any way favored or discriminated against <br />because of political opinions or affiliations, race, color, national origin, <br />religion, sex, marital status, age, status with regard to public assistance or <br />disability, or because of the exercise of rights under provisions of the Public <br />Employment Labor Relations Act, Minnesota Statute §179A. No person who <br />is over 18 years of age shall be discriminated against with reference to city <br />employment in any way forbidden by federal and state law. <br /> <br />3.20.21 Officials under workers* compensation act. Pursuant to <br />Minnesota Statutes § 176.011, Subdivision 9, the officials of the city elected or <br />appointed for a regular term of office or to complete the unexpired portion of <br />a regular term are hereby included in the coverage of the Minnesota <br />Workers' Compensation Act. <br /> <br />3.20.22 Supplementary employment. <br /> <br /> Sub& 1. No City of Ramsey police officer shall work as a <br />police officer or keeper of the peace directly for any establishment in the City <br />of P~amsey or at any special private functions within the City. Officers <br />needed at special functions shall work as Ramsey City employees and shall <br />be paid directly by the City of Ramsey. The City, in return, will bill the <br />person or entity requesting the officers' presence at the function from <br />which payment the City will reimburse itself for the officers' services. <br /> <br />3.20.23 Exceptions. No exception to any provision of this personnel <br />policy may be make except by City Council resolution with a vote of 4/5tbs. <br />Such exceptions shall be made only on a case by case basis and only after <br />the Council has adopted sufficient findings of fact showing the justification <br />for the proposed exception. <br /> <br /> <br />
