to earnest money language, Assistant to the City Administrator Brama stated he would have to <br />conduct additional research to determine the standard for the market. <br />City Attorney Langel stated neither term surprised him as it is with a commercial real estate <br />broker and there are costs to advertise, market, and close the transactions. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated with the prior agreement, they got 20% of the entire fee at the <br />purchase agreement. <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Brama stated when compared to other national commercial <br />brokers, the residential percentages were the same. <br />City Administrator Ulrich complemented the work of staff, noting it is a prime example of the <br />new initiative and he thinks the partnership with CBRE will be fruitful. <br />Mayor Strommen agreed and also complemented staff. <br />The Council supported placing an article on this initiative in the Anoka Union and /or City <br />newsletter. <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Brama advised of CBRE's intent to issue a press release. <br />3. TOPICS FOR FUTURE DISCUSSION <br />Councilmember Riley suggested a public presentation at a future Council meeting to address the <br />City's emergency management plan related to trains should there be an accident. <br />Councilmember Kuzma asked for discussion on the JPA with the Lower Rum River Watershed <br />Management Organization. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that topic is scheduled for next week's Work Session and <br />Regular Session meeting. <br />4. MAYOR / COUNCIL / STAFF INPUT <br />City Administrator Ulrich reported the McDonald's transaction was not completed in 2013 but <br />either party would have to take proactive action to cancel the contract. He stated he will contact <br />McDonald's to schedule a date certain. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated there is agreement for one of the North Commons lots so that <br />case will be before the HRA next week. <br />City Administrator Ulrich suggested the Council hold an internal process in February to review <br />2013 accomplishments, tweak the mission statement, and address 2014 annual goals. <br />City Council Work Session / January 7, 2014 <br />Page 11 of 13 <br />
