Do NUISANCE ABATEMENT DECISION ANALYSIS 6/21/91 Attempt to receive: Name Address Work and home telephone numbers Nature of complaint INVESTIGATION Verify validity by visual inspection DOC~ VIOLATION Open file: Photos; videos if appropriate Copy of violated ordinance(s) CONTACT COMPLAINANT By phone if possible Within five working days of resolution Periodic updates if process is prolonged (within 15-20 working days of/nitial complaint) WRYFI'EN CONTACT OF VIOLATING OWNER Notice will include: Violation Date of inspection Ordinance number Date by which violation must be rectified (10 working days after date of letter) Contact person at City Hall _VERBAL CONTACT OF VIOLATING OWNER Provide "reasonable" time frame for resolution Follow-up to ensure compliance CONTACT SUPERVISOR Turf and debris problems will ordinarily be contracted to local firm and billed to property with possible special assessment. At either this stage or in Step E, if deemed appropriate by Code Enforcement Officer, date should be set on which contractor will enter property. Prior to this, an attempt to contact owner will occur to verify understanding of process and pending result. Most other issues such as "keeping of a junk yard" will receive Council direction. COUNCIL D/RECTION Issues reaching this stage should initiate broader public (neighborhood) notification.
