City Planner Anderson confirmed the direction to continue on this path and plan to hold the
event in the new manner.
• Environmental Expo Subcommittee
Board Member Hiatt stated that the Subcommittee does not have a report and would like to meet
with City Planner Anderson to work out some details. He suggested perhaps surveying the past
vendors and noted that a report would be available at the February meeting.
• Education and Community Awareness Subcommittee
Board Member Lewis stated that the Subcommittee is working to identify all of the groups,
individuals, and publications that would be available in the area that the Board could reach out
to. He advised that the Subcommittee is still working to develop a full list of that contact
information which will be made available to the entire Board. He noted that following that time
the Subcommittee could discuss the publication of articles.
Board Member Stodola stated that he will email City Planner Anderson with the list once
finished to determine if he has current contact information for the list.
Chairperson Max questioned the status of the stock of articles for publication.
City Planner Anderson noted that the stock has been depleted. He advised of the information he
will compile for the March/April edition of the newsletter, which will include tree sale
information.
Chairperson Max suggested mentioning the prohibited tree list prior to ideal planting season.
Board Member Lewis stated that perhaps City Planner Anderson could provide the
Subcommittee with the amount of available space for articles and the publication deadlines so
that articles can be prepared in advance.
City Councilmember Letourneau suggested that the Chamber of Commerce be included on the
list, as they could provide creative opportunities for marketing. He also noted that he would be
willing to read information to the public on Tuesday nights during the Council Update. He
advised that there would also be an opportunity to include content on the Community Update.
5.03: Community Stewardship Recognition Program
City Planner Anderson presented the staff report. He advised that this item was simply
informational and meant to spark the thought, noting that the item could be further discussed at
the February meeting.
Chairperson Max questioned how recognition could be given when there are no parameters for
the program at this time.
City Planner Anderson stated that he is bringing forward something to recognize the Girl Scouts
and noted that his intention is to develop criteria before this situation arises again.
