Observations: I contacted several cities to ascertain who paid for the audit cost of the Volunteer Fire Department and as of this writing, two have responded. In Andover the cost is borne by the Firefighter Relief Association, and in Elk River it is paid from the City's General Fund. Results from other cities that respond will be available at the meeting. The City does need to send an engagement letter which explains and confinns the basic services of the upcoming audit. Recommendation: It is recommended the City's auditors be retained for the audit requirements of the Relief Association. Recommendation as to who pays for this audit will be the result of discussions held during the public hearing which precedes the regular meeting this evening. Council Action: Motion to authorize tile City Administrator to sign the engagement letter with Malloy Kamowski & Co., P.A. for City of Ramsey and the Ramsey Volunteer Firefighters' Relief Association for auditing services for tile year ended 12/31/91 with all associated expenses paid from the City's General Fund. or Motion to authorize the City Administrator to sign the engagement letter with Malloy Kamowski & Co., P.A. for City of Ramsey and the Ramsey Volunteer Firefighters' Relief Association for auditing services for the year ended 12/31/91. Each entity (the City of Ramsey and the Ramsey Volunteer Firefighters' Relief Association) will be .responsible for payment of their share of the audit expenses.
