Therefore, if we select a project in one of these 3 categories and so do a lot of other Anoka Count>, communities, it is possible that the amount approved may be something less than requested. There is one CDBG issue that requires immediate attention. Ramsey has recently been notified that we currently have $1851.77 in unallocated CDBG funds from prior years. These funds are the result of some interest earned on monies that were once held in the economic development revolving loan fund. I have been informed by JoAnn Wright, Anoka County Community Development Director, that these funds must be allocated by January 13, 1992 or they will be forfeited. There are still a couple of Ramsey residents on the waiting list for housing rehabilitation assistance. The most cost efficient use of this $1851.77 would be to allocate it to the housing rehabilitation project. The current housing rehabilitation fund balance of +$5,000 pitts the additional $1,800 may be enough to assist one more resident. A resolution is enclosed for your consideration. Recommendation: Direct City Staff to schedule and advertise a public hearing regarding the use of CDBG funds for Ttmsday, February 11, 1992. Allocate the outstanding $1851.77 to the County Housing Rehabilitation Program.
