CASE <br /> <br /> 1992 LEGAL SERVICES <br />By: Ryan R. Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Pursuant to recent Council direction, Staff has submitted requests for proposals for general legal <br />prosecution and development legal services. A copy of the request for proposals is enclosed for <br />your review. <br /> <br />At the time of preparation of this agenda case, we have received one submittal and expect to receive <br />a total of four or five. The firms that we have requested proposals from include: Randall, Dehn & <br />Goodrich from Anoka, Mark Karney from St Paul, Burke & Hawkins from Coon Rapids, <br />Rosenthal, Rondoni & MacMillan from New Hope, Newquist and Eckstrum from Fridley, <br />Holmes & Graven from Minneapolis and Olson Usset from Edina. All of these firms have <br />municipal legal experience and all are either currently serving or have served in the past cities in the <br />Anoka County area. <br /> <br />! expect to receive fairly lengthy proposals and that each of the firms will be fairly competitive in <br />price. However, there is more than economics involved in the choice for city attorneys and I <br />therefore expect that an interview process should be set up in order to critically evaluate the various <br />proposers.
