Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Mayor and Councilmembers received a letter of resignation from Councilmember'Richard Cich <br />at their November 26, 1991 meeting. According to the City Charter, when a vacancy of an elected <br />office of the City occurs with 365 days or more remaining in the term of the vacated office, there <br />shall be a special election within 90 days to elect a successor. When there remains less than 365 <br />days in the unexpired term, the City Council may, by a majority vote, appoint a successor to serve <br />for the remainder of the term. The effective date of Mr. Cich's resignation will be January 14, <br />1992, therefore allowing City Council to appoint a successor. <br /> <br />City Staff submitted an article to be printed in the December Ramsey Newsletter informing <br />residents of Mr. Cich's resignation and asking any interested persons wishing to be considered for <br />the position to send a letter of interest to the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information is the letter of resignation from Mr. Cich and also the article <br />submitted for the December Newsletter. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />CC: 12/17/91 <br /> <br /> <br />
