CASE #4

EMPLOYEE LUNCHROOM REFRIGERATOR
By: Penny Ott, Administrative Coordinator

Background:

The refrigerator in the employee lunchroom is in need of repair. The doors on both the refrigerator
,,.. :, i i'.ccezer section do not seal properly and because of this it continually trips the circuit breaker.
The cost to repair the refrigerator could exceed the cost of buying a new used one. We are
therefore requesting authorization to purchase a used refrigerator at a price not to exceed $250.
This would be funded through Administrative Services Capital Outlay. If this request is approved
by Council, we are also recommending that the current refrigerator be declared surplus and
included in the Council's proposed resolution declaring miscellaneous surplus items at tonight's
Council meeting.

For informational purposes, the current refrigerator was paid for by the employees. As is the case
with the purchase of coffee, it seems fair and appropriate that the employees and the City alternate
in paying for a refrigerator.

Committee Action:

Based on discussion.

~t.~.: v~ew Checklist:

Administrative Coordinator
Finance Officer

BC:5/14/91
