City of Ramsey 15153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 ,, {612) 427-1410 September 3, 1991 Mr. Darryl Jensen 400 Northtown Financial Plaza 200 Coon Rapids Boulevard Coon Rapids, Minnesota 55433 RE: Wayne Knutson Property in the CiD' of Ramsey Dear Mr. Jensen: Recently the City of Ramsey completed an extension of 153rd Avenue N.W. from County Road #5, (Nowthen Boulevard N.W.), to Count5, Road #56, (Ramsey Boulevard N.W.) and connecting to a section of 155th Avenue N.W. terminating at Variolite Street N.W. The last leg of this roadway is proposed to connect to 153rd Avenue N.W. where it intersects with Count3, Road #83, (Armstrong Boulevard N.W.). This proposed final leg of 153rd Avenue N.W. will likely require the acquisition of roadway right-of-way through property which you currently own. The City of Ramsey Staff is proposing that this roadway be completed in either 1992 or 1993. Prior to this, however, the project must be reviewed by the Ramsey City Council Budget Committee comprised of Councilmembers Glen Hardin and Ken Peterson and the City Council Road and Bridge Comn'finee comprised of Mayor Jim Gilbertson and Councilmember Ken Peterson. The Budget Committee is scheduled to deal with this proposed project on September 24, 1991, at 5:00 p.m. in the Ramsey Council Chambers. The Road and Bridge Committee is scheduled to deal with the issue the same evening in the same location at 7:00 p.m., prior to the 7:30 City Council meeting. This project is not on the City Council agenda for that evening. This correspondence is to notify you that should these two committees positively review this proposed project, City Staff will place the project on the October 8, 1991 Council agenda. The intent is to receive Council authorization to provide for preliminar), en~neering and survey services in mid-November in order to define the exact location of the proposed right-of-way to initiate negotiation for purchase of said right-of-way for either the 1992 or 1993 construction season. Funding for the design and construction of this project is proposed to be received under Municipal State Aid guidelines. Further, it is required that the City receive permits from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) prior to an), roadway construction should an), portion thereof occur within the protected wetland which it appears would be the case here.
