<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # 14-01- <br />012 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO PROMOTE THE CURRENT COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER <br />TO THE POSITION OF FIRE MARSHAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the City Council directed staff to begin a process to fill the position that <br />was vacated by the resignation of the former Fire Marshal, Mr. Matt Kohner, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />staff conducted a five day internal recruitment for a Fire Marshal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />staff recommends promoting Mr. Carey Schiferli, effective <br />January 15, 2014, to the position of Fire Marshal, at step 1 of the wage scale, which is <br />$27.79 per hour. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br /> <br />1) Motion to approve resolution #14-01-012, to promote Mr. Carey Schiferli, effective <br />January 15, 2014, to the position of Fire Marshal, at step 1 of the wage scale, which is <br />$27.79 per hour. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Johns, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Tossey <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br /> Councilmember Backous <br /> <br />
