02/05/2014
Hello, my name is Jackie Voss. I am a teacher at Little Me
Childcare. The center that is within 50 feet from where it was
approved to put up a indoor gun range. I was asked to express
some of my concerns with this gun range.
1. The safety of the children who play within 30 feet of
the shooting part of the range. These children look
forward to their time to go outside and play
throughout the day. With this gun range being put in
it will only cause fear with in our staff, and parents.
2. Even providing safety procedures throughout the
range is not going to guarantee safety for our
children, and staff. Not everyone is going to
cooperate with these procedures, and rules. There's
always going to be one person who is going to do
something reckless that will endanger someone. But
with a daycare right there it is going to be even more
of a risk.
3 At Little Me Childcare we have a structured, calm
environment. With the gun range right there not only
will us staff be able to hear it. But our children will
also. Our children should not have to hear gun shots
throughout their day. They have naptime and will
have a tough time taking a nap with the gun shots
going off.
4. Our business will be affected by this.
We as staff rely on this business to be able to make
ends meet. This is our job. In which we use to pay
bills. With this gun range being put up. It will affect
our lives drastically.
In this, I hope you strongly consider these arguments, and
think about the others that will be affected by this decision.
Jackie Voss
